After winning their first Gold medal in the 2010 Centrobasket Championship for Women played in Mayagüez, now the Puerto Rican women's team will go for their first Gold medal in the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games after beating Jamaica 63-44 in the semifinals. The game was close from the start, where Jamaica dominated inside and played some great defense in the first three quarters. ....
The Puerto Rican men's national team selected their twelve players for the Central American and Caribbean Games. Men's basketball will be played in San German, Quebradillas and Mayaguez. The Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico stayed undefeated in women's basketball at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games. Mexico, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico women's basketball teams won on day 2 of the Central American and Caribbean Games. The Mexicans made their debut by beating Guatemala 85-65 as Brisa Silva led the way with 31 points, including five three pointers. In the loss Alma Lopez netted 21 points.
