About Us

CBC, the Caribbean Basketball Confederation is a Sub-Sub-Zone of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) the world governing body for basketball.
Founded in 1981, to bring together 23 National Basketball Federations from the Caribbean. The CBC was preceded by the former Caricom Basketball Confederation with the inclusion of Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2000.
We organise and oversee international competitions that include the CBC Championships and 3X3 basketball.

Monitors the state of the game around the world and across the various national federations and propose to the Central Board any measures deemed useful to improve the technical level of its participants and the development of the sport. Draws up the text of the Official Basketball Rules, draft amendments to these rules for adoption by the Central Board, give the official interpretation of the rules and solve doubtful cases or cases not clearly covered by the rules themselves.

DEVELOPMENT

Some of our development progrms include Mini-Basketball, Basketball Academy, Youth Coach Project and Women's basketball. These projects where designed to develop an educational process for the Coaches, Referees and Table Officials in order to train them with knowledge and necessary tools on the teaching of technique, theory and practice of the game in order to apply this in the development of the child.
