Jamaica dominates US Virgin Islands to get their first win
Jamaica defeated US Virgin Islands 73-62 to get their first win in the 2010 Centrobasket Championship for Women. Their dominance inside, winning the boards 50-29 and a total of 54 points in the paint, was the key for the Jamaican team. Simone Edwards scored 21 points and Vanessa Nicole Gidden 18 for Jamaica. The Jamaican team was only behind 3-2 and took the lead 4-3 with a basket by Tajay Ashmeade and never fell behind.  The first quarter ended 16-14 in favor of Jamaica and at halftime their lead was 36-28.....

Guatemala dominates St. Vincent and the Grenadines in Centrobasket Championship for Women
Guatemala cruised by St. Vincent and the Grenadines 105-54 in the 2010 Centrobasket Championship for Women. Guatemala won the first quarter 35-5 and never looked back as they overwhelmed the team from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, dominating the paint and taking advantage of their turnovers. Blanca Amado scored 25 points and Cynthia Blanco 23 for Guatemala. In the loss Sorayah Williams had 22 points and 10 rebounds while Tenicha Gittens added 13.....

Dominican Republic beats Cuba and plays against Puerto Rico for the Gold
The Dominican Republic defeated Cuba, 85-71, earning the right to play for the gold medal against their archrival, Puerto Rico, at the 2010 Centrobasket Championship in Santo Domingo. The Finals will be held at 8:30 pm while Cuba will face Panama for the bronze medal at 6:00 pm. The best three teams will qualify to the 2011 Pan-American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, while the Semi-finalists  are already qualified for the 2011 FIBA Americas Championship (Pre-Olympic). ...

Puerto Rico crushes St. Vincent and the Grenadines to be 2-0
Puerto Rico dominated St. Vincent and the Grenadines, 130-32, to close the second day of competition at the 2010 Centrobasket Championship for Women in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. After the score remained tight for the first two minutes of the game, Puerto Rico presented a 22-0 rally that put them up front, 29-7, to finally take the first quarter, 37-9. The first half finished, 61-16, and the third quarter, 100-24. ....

Puerto Rico wins over Panama 77-70 and goes for the Gold
Puerto Rico defeated Panama, 77-70, on their way to the gold medal game at the Centrobasket Championship for Men in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. For the Puerto Ricans, Carlos Arroyo scored 23 points, José Juan Barea, 22, and Peter John Ramos, 14. They will play for gold on Monday, 12 July at 8:30 p.m. Puerto Rico won the first half, 39-34, alter winning the first quarter, 23-13....
