Mexico beats Trinidad & Tobago and waits for the rest
México dominated Trinidad & Tobago 75-52 to finish their participation in the preliminary round of the 2010 Centrobasket Championship with a 2-2 record. Now the Mexicans will wait for the results of Group B in order to know if they qualify for the 2011 FIBA-Americas Championship. The Mexicans won against Belize 85-63 and lost against Cuba 82-62 and Puerto Rico 95-82. Victor Mariscal netted 21 points, including six three pointers while Jovan Harris had 15 points. Gustavo Ayon helped with 9 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks.

Puerto Rico ready to fight for the Gold in Centrobasket Championship for Women
MAYAGUEZ - The Puerto Rican national team that wwill participate in the 2010 Centrobasket Championship for Women already thinks about the Gold medal for this tournament that qualifies the top three teams for the 2011 FIBA-Americas Championship for Women. The twelve players selected are: Pamela Rosado, Lindsay González, Michelle Pacheco, Jazmine Sepúlveda, Carla Escalera, Angiely Morales, Lisa Báez, Mari Plácido, Esmary Vargas, Juanita Rivera, Stephanie Rosado and Sandra García. The team, who won the Silver medal in the 2008 Centrobasket held in Morovis and finished fifth in the 2009 FIBA-Americas Championship in Cuiaba, won't have Millie Martínez and Cynthia Valentín who were two of their best scorers. ...

GABF International Goodwill tournament set for August 18 – 25 - Local squad begin preparation today
Guyana’s male and female national units are in for a busy summer as President of the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) David Patterson yesterday informed Chronicle Sport, that from August 18 – 25 it will be hosting an International Goodwill tournament. The cliff Anderson sports hall will be the venue for the tournament that will feature male and female teams from the North Carolina, Washing DC and New York areas. “we have coach Larry Davis coming back with his female team that he had brought last year and he will be bringing a male unit as well this time, we also have the DC Jammers coming back after a break and also we expect a female team from the DC area, that team will have Mickey Burnett and then Coach Bernard Daniels will have a team coming from New York” Patterson said.

Trinidad & Tobago upsets Puerto Rico
SANTO DOMINGO (2010 Centrobasket Championship) - Trinidad & Tobago got their biggest win in their history by defeating Puerto Rico 97-91 in overtime on day 2 of the 2010 Centrobasket Championship. This is the first win for Trinidad & Tobago over Puerto Rico in their history. The last time both teams met was in the 2007 CBC Championship where the Puerto Ricans won 93-67.read more
