Puerto Rico selects their twelve players for the CAC Games

SAN GERMAN - The Puerto Rican men's national team selected their twelve players for the Central American and Caribbean Games. Men's basketball will be played in San Germán, Quebradillas and Mayagüez.
The twelve finalists are: Carlos Arroyo, José Juan Barea, Filiberto Rivera, Christian Dalmau, David Cortés, Ángel Daniel Vassallo, Carmelo Lee, Nathan Peavy, Ricky Sánchez, Renaldo Balkman, Manuel Narváez and Daniel Santiago.
A total of seven players were part of the team that won gold in the 2010 Centrobasket Championship for Men held in the Dominican Republic. Guillermo Díaz, Larry Ayuso and Peter John Ramos are recovering from injuries and won't play in this tournament.
In the last CAC Games played in Colombia (2006), Puerto Rico won the gold medal after José Juan Barea made a three pointer as time expired to beat Panama 90-87. This tournament was the debut of Barea with the senior national team.
