The draw for the FIBA Americas U18 Championship for Women was hel in the afternoon at the headquarters of the Basketball Federation of Puerto Rico at the Olympic House in San Juan, under the leadership of Sports Director of FIBA Americas, Mr. Aníbal Garcia.

The Bequia Basketball Association held its Annual General Meeting and Elections on Wednesday May 16th at the Bequia District Council in Port Elizabeth.

Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Samardo Samuels headlines a number of overseas-based players that have been confirmed to join local players for the upcoming 2012 Centrobasket Men’s Championship, to be held from June 18 to 24 in Puerto Rico.

The majority of local basketball events, from the first and second divisions and business league, to annual tournaments, take place at the JSC Sports Complex. As is common in many countries with small economies, the JSC is a semi-covered facility. This design, while cost-effective, has its limitations as compared to a fully-covered indoor facility.

John Calipari, who led the National Basketball Team to their best performance in an Olympic qualifier last summer, has agreed to return with the team for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) of Caracas, with the aim to qualifying for the 2012 London Games.
