Puerto Rico , officially the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, is a self-governing unincorporated territory of the United States located in the northeastern Caribbean, east of the Dominican Republic and west of the Virgin Islands. 

Federacion de Baloncesto de Puerto Rico (FBPR) is responsible for their participation in the CBC Championships. The FBPR was formally recognized by the International Basketball Federation (Fédération Internationale de Basketball) (FIBA) in ___. FBPR joined the Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) in ____.

The Basketball Federation of Puerto Rico is the vehicle to ensure the health of our participants by providing optimal conditions for adequate and healthy living and participation of children, youth and adults in both sexes. The Basketball Federation of Puerto Rico has the inherent responsibility and may organize and promote the sport of basketball. FBPR encourages widespread sport of basketball zoned the island recognizing the individual needs of every child, teenager, youth and adults of both sexes, while providing a wide range of experiences that are behind their physical and emotional. Promote physical and mental development of the participants complete and harmonious, encouraging positive attitudes towards the game, competitive rivalry and training, including special care and consideration with the other participants. Promote the implementation of this mission in order to achieve uniform development of athletes and thus identify talent for our high performance basketball and our national teams.
