United States Virgin Islands (ISV)
The United States Virgin Islands is a group
of islands in the Caribbean that are an
insular area of the United States. The
islands are geographically part of the
Virgin Islands archipelago and are located
in the Leeward Islands of the Lesser
Antilles.
The Virgin Islands Basketball Federation (VIBF) is responsible for their participation in the CBC Championships. The JABA was formally recognized by the International Basketball Federation (Fédération Internationale de Basketball) (FIBA) in 1964. VIBF joined the Caribbean Basketball Confederation in 2002.
VIBF serves to promote and implement basketball programs in the Virgin Islands, in an organized approach to the administration of the game, while providing organizations, teams, coaches and players with the appropriate level of representation and participation in the development of the sport of Basketball in the Virgin Islands..
